my dear David
I was so sure and told myself that I will never open my heart again. But you took me so suddenly with only simple words. I never knew I was going to find you. Never knew I was going to date you. I never knew I was going to love you. And never knew I was going to marry you.
You are the only exception. You are the one, I want with me. You are the one, I need so much. You are the one, that I'll forever love. You are the one, sent from heaven above. You give a new meaning to my life, you have taken a chance on me and I won't let you down.
I cannot promise you that this would be an easy journey. I cannot promise you a perfect woman. But beb I will be a virtuous one. I will love and make sacrifices for you and our family. I will be there through thick and thin. Through ups and downs I will be right right by your side. I got your back beb! My love for you will never waver nor will my loyalty be questioned. As the holy book commanded, I will be submissive to your every word and let you be the head. Our children will see their father as a hero just as you will be my hero. My heart and my love.
A life of laughter and peace. A life and passion and happiness. Our love will shine brighter and grow stronger every day. We will do the impossible. Reach for greater heights together and fulfill goals, dreams and ambitions we can only imagine. Our warmth, courage, love and joy will be an inspiration to all. I cannot wait to see our children. I have no doubt they'll be beautiful, smart, strong and hardworking just like their mommy and daddy. Our children will grow to have the best parents. I have so much love to give you and cannot wait to start our lives together as a family.
I love you beb!

"kedda happy meal"
When I lost a loved one, in the beginning it wasn't so much a matter of moving on, as it was about getting through the day. What always helped me was that "get-through-each-day" thinking that seemed to come naturally. And with the help of these two precious friends, I got through with it. I gave my mind a chance to rest from the grief and just thought of neutral or pleasant things. Being with them helped me a lot. We had our strengths and weaknesses, and we all exhibited our emotions differently. How we acted at work, and how we are as friends. They seem peaceable enough, but disrespect them and they will kick your a**. We also had our bad times. For some reason, I can't help but love them anyway, always. It's not finding similarities, it's about respecting differences. Even though we had our differences, we always seemed optimistic, cheerful and happy, confident in our actions, envied by others, and enjoyed spontaneous activities. Those happy memories will always be cherished. And thanks to them this added a bright spot to my life.
To SL, one I can be alone with and not be able to think of anything to say and be comfortable with the silence. Thank you. To Beb, though miles may lie between us, you are never far apart. You will always be in my heart. I missed you "keda happy meal a.k.a. seb! imo na".

who needs an army?
Through good times and bad times, smiles and tears, laughter and pain, sunny days and rainy days, life and death...no matter what happens and even though we've changed and we are all finding our own place in the world, nothing will ever change much to the point where we are not all still friends.
"Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose"
I'm just so thankful and blessed that no matter what I am, who I am, and what I have and don't have they accepted me as ME..as SIMPLY CARMS. If you're reading this blog and you happen to be one of my friends...then THANK YOU for being there for me. I truly appreciate it. Friends play a huge role in shaping our lives. They bring support and joy and occasional strife. Each of them represents a world in us. They may be few, but few true friends are well worth it. So as GG said, "with friends like these, who needs an army?"

Jack em up...and rock EM up little sis... You are about to witness the most astonishing kick-ass jamming ever. Not Satriani nor Malsteen can match up the skill of Norwin. Wahoo!!" said Izzy.
Damn I missed those happy and crazy old times. Thinking about booze and jammin', going home late and not thinking about tomorrow's class and exams. It's like going out on night patrol without night vision goggles or going to war without a rifle. That was then. Now, it's all just memories...good memories. It's wonderful to bring back great memories of the past. Friendship is like a guitar; the music may stop now and then, but the strings will last forever. Just like friends, together forever and never apart, maybe in distance, but never in heart.

four cups of coffee
Maiko kept looking back, sideways and straight ahead of her, cold perspiration on her forehead and on the other undesirable parts of her body, like on the palm of her right hand for instance, which was consciously linked to J's. Yesterday was their luniversary (in urban dictionary - monthsary), and they were celebrating it a day late due to certain unavoidable complications. This day should have been one of the greatest days of her life but it didn't feel like it was. She was too anxious and worried. Still, she forced herself to feel better, more for J than herself. All of a sudden, J let go of her hand. He inconspicuously moved away from her as a thought of his caught his attention. Maiko moved ahead and waited for him at a distance. After a while, he joined her with a sheepish , uncomfortable look on his face. He said nothing. They walked a few inches farther apart, holding hands just seemed like the clumsiest thing to do. They'd been together for four years and she wanted to tell the whole world. But why is life being unfair? Why won't people just let them be and be happy for the two of them? In few months J will be moving to another place and be staying there for good. "How are your friends?" J asked in an attempt to shatter the awkwardness. "Just fine," Maiko answered flatly. And her day was just ruined.
Natsumi read K's message for the 15th time, and smiled a smile the kind of which only the truest embodiment of bliss can inspire. K is just too good to be true. Natsumi enjoyed the way the strands of his hair would fall and the way he swept them back. She adored his laugh and his smile. Everything just seemed so unreal that sometimes she wonders if in fact she wasn't in a fairy tale. Magical birds and fishes, the sky and sea are the kind of thoughts K inspires. Natsumi is one blessed or cursed with an imagination possessed and followed by not so many, and in K she had found a kindred spirit. Everything is nearly perfect. In other word, ALMOST. Her story is somehow similar to Chieko, the only difference is that she told R the truth that she had a paramour. Natsumi was so confused, she has a live hostage yet all her attentions, thoughts, imagination was diverted to K. Since when was K gonna make a move? Natsumi was almost getting desperate. The thought that he was just there, but never been able to call him just hers was driving her mad. Who was K fooling with this just-friend shenanigan? They were not "just friends" and they both knew it. What in the world was he waiting for? She wanted to cry but thought otherwise. At least, somehow he's still around. Isn't that reasonable enough to be thankful? Her mind started to ease out. Crap! She just wished her heart would just follow.
It was heaven looking into Al's eyes and getting herself lost in them, not only is he a genuinely good person, he met almost everything that Keiko wanted from a man. From the superficial like his choice of music and clothes, to deeper matters such as the principles he abides. Al also has a healthy sense of humor. Keiko loves everything about Al. "Honey, do you want something to drink?" Al anticipated Keiko's needs. Another thing she just loved about him. "A soft drink would do, Hon." "Be back in a sec." said A. Keiko felt giggly and giggly all over. Al looked very handsome in his blue shirt. She never expected to fall this fast after - after what exactly? It's not like "they" were actually together. They went out thrice and only as friends. But something about the way his dangerous eyes twinkled had turned her into a willing captive. She caught a sight of Al with her soft drink and gave her a sort of smile. He sat down and said "I have a paramour and we've been together for six long years and in March we're getting married and you know that, right?" What a sudden turn of thoughts! Al felt himself blush with guilt but managed to hide his dilemma. " I have my ways even in the little things that I do to make you feel special to me", Keiko reminisces the day that she wouldn't forget...the day he brought her to Manila Memorial Park, where they sat on the ground and had this candle light dinner. Weird huh! But romantic. Oh but that was then.
Maiko was first to arrive in a Java shop, they always meet there every Saturday. She took a seat near the glass wall so she can clearly look at the wanderers, criticizing and adoring what each was wearing. Five minutes later, Keiko joined her, uttering a curt hello which the former was too preoccupied to notice. Ten minutes later, Natsumi entered the shop. She didn't bother with many pleasantries. All three sat together, all trapped in their own little words scarcely acknowledging each other's existence. Finally, a very puffy-eyed Chieko, who obviously had just been crying, came. She started talking about someone. No one was in the mood to hear yet another sob story, but as no one wanted to hurt her feelings, they all tried to feign enthusiasm. "Yesterday, I told R everything...that I've fallen in love with him. I don't mind if he thinks I'm berserk. I set aside all my fears and not be scared about what's going to happen. He's so good and has this big heart. So he left!!! Then all of a sudden he avoided me, never responded to any of my calls or messages", Chieko cried. She looked at her best friends to answer, but all she got were some "uhhms...and well..."
At that moment, it was becoming clear to all of them each one was carrying some emotional boulder. The stone being so massive as well as heavy had blocked much of the flow of rational thought.
"I know what we all need," Chieko declared quite abruptly and all three heads turned to her, "...a good cup of coffee." And for the first time that day, all four ladies were able to smile.
(Dedicated to my friends - hope you remember this story...a part of your story.. our story.)

Walletjes
It is Amsterdam's largest and most well known red-light district. A designated area of legalized prostitution and has become a famous tourist attraction. Consists of a network of roads and alleys containing several hundred small, one-room apartments rented by sex workers who offer their services from behind a window or glass door, typically illuminated with red lights.
I was told not to take pictures. Why is it forbidden to take pictures in some places in Europe?
In some places it might be for security reasons or some of them find it offensive or they may want to protect the economic viability of their gift shop products . Well, it depends on which places you are talking about. But for me, it's probably because they want tourists to see for themselves. *smile*
Some say it is the happiest place in Amsterdam, and that the RLD is a "cakewalk" as many present it. Another image of the Red Light District is of packs of young and old men, giggling groups of women, couples holding hands and pointing in shock of it all, and crazy groups of teenagers. This proved enough that the RLD deserves a visit, if not a little look in. Generally speaking, if you are clueless about these and many other things, the RLD is far from being just "let's go to the District, smoke a joint and f*** some girls". It is NOT a safe place (there are news articles on the web that will help you understand what am I talking about). It is not to scare or to create a paranoia, or any kind of negative mood before you go to this place. It is to arm you the knowledge to avoid the nasty things that happen to careless tourists. So your stay in Amsterdam could be the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

the capital city
Off I went through Amsterdam's canals with the Canal bike. I found some of the most beautiful spots in the old center of the city. I traveled from one mooring to the next along the wide main canals and narrow cross-canals of the 17th and 18th century Amsterdam. I took the time to snap a few photos!!...
